When we flew into Miami on Friday it was cold - apparently it was the coldest Miami has been in 20 years... Saturday it was raining and cold, we all hope we will sail out of the rain and into blue skies and warm temperatures! Sunday was our first stop at a private island in the Bahamas, Half Moon Cay. It was beautiful, and would had been so much fun, if it wasn't so cold! Denin let me and Michelle bury him in the sand - we of course had to make it inappropriate! Denin was also the only one brave enough to swim in the ocean that day.
Monday was our first day at sea and also formal night - it wasn't very warm on deck, so no chance to work on our tans, but we still spent the day relaxing and napping (something we rarely get to do at home)!
Tuesday our port was St. Thomas, USVI. It was a beautiful place known for it's jewelry shopping, it was also the first day the sun was shining when we woke up!!! We spent the morning shopping and then went to a beach in the afternoon. We were very disappointed in St. Thomas - the beach was not that great, the traffic was horrible, and the taxi drivers were beyond scary! St. Thomas ended up being our least favorite port, when we thought it would be our favorite! If we ever go back, we will definitely take a boat over to St. John!
Wednesday was San Juan, Puerto Rico. We expected this to be our least favorite stop, but it was actually very cool! We looked around the city, did some shopping, and even saw some historical sites. We ate lunch at Senor Frogs (I was just happy to eat something other than cruise ship food) and had a great day. We had another sunny day, and it didn't get cloudy until we were back on the boat!
Thursday was the island of Grand Turk. We had a blast! The day was beautiful, sunny, and warm. We spent the day snorkeling and soaking up the sun! We brought home sea shells and sand dollars that Denin and Jared got off the ocean floor - way cool! That night was also our formal night - although slightly sun burnt, we had a great day!
