1 Week Old!

I can't believe Jyllian is a week old already! It's gone by so fast, but yet it seems like it has been a looooooong week - I guess sleep deprivation has a way of making you feel like that! She's been a pretty good baby, but then again, all we do at this point is eat, sleep, poop, and cry. So far her crying is consolable, keep your fingers crossed that in the next week the curse of the angry Peterson doesn't rear it's ugly head (COLIC)! Below are the most recent pictures - she's so sweet!

The boys' still love her. They constantly want to hug her and kiss her, sweet, but it is always when she is asleep! It seems like we are always telling them to be quiet - we never realized how loud they were, but now with a sleeping baby, they are having to learn to use their "inside voices!" I'm worried that the novelty of Jyllian will soon wear off, she will no longer be cute to them, and she will become another reason why they get in trouble - hopefully that doesn't happen!  For now they are my big noisy, helpers - willing to do everything but diaper duty!!!!

My babies

There has been a bit of debate who Jyllian looks like - now you can decide for yourself!

Both Jyllian and Kole have stork bites and darker hair, Jyllian and Kamden weighed within an ounce of each other.  She has a different mouth and chin, but I'm sure she will have the same big blue eyes!  One thing I hope that makes her completely different from her brothers is a lack of colic - keep your fingers crossed!!!

And baby makes 5!

Our baby girl finally made her appearance on June 5th.  She was born at 7:19am, weighed 7 pounds, 14 ounces and was 20.5 inches long.  She was born on what would have been my grandpa's 100th birthday and is named after her grandmas - Jyllian Lori Peterson.  I think she is beautiful and perfect!

She was the most difficult of the 3 coming in to the world.  I was scheduled to be induced at 8pm on 6/4, they couldn't start the drugs until after my doctor came in and broke my water because they couldn't monitor her for 20 minutes - she moved around too much!  They put an internal monitor on her head and we were good to go!  I lasted maybe an hour and a half before I got my epidural, I'm a weenie, but why tough it out?!  Of course, she had to remain difficult through the night.  Her heart rate would drop so we would have to have me move positions, luckily that did the trick.  A little before 5:00am I was ready to push.  Yes - that was over two hours of pushing. Although my labor wasn't all that long, it was long for me, but in the end I got my beautiful little girl.

The boys are absolutely fascinated with their new baby sister.  They love to give her kisses and tickle her - although cute, they aren't the most gentle (but they try).  They are also very curious.  They were amazed by her umbilical cord, and each had to investigate their belly buttons.  Kole asked my mom if she saw Jyllian come out of my tummy, that discussion ended up with Kole admitting he thought she came out of my bum crack - we will leave that one be, for now.  Kamden is curious by all her small parts - small eyes, nose, bum, etc.  He noticed her "parts" were different than his, he thinks her "parts" still have to come out...  We have had many interesting conversations, and she is only 3 days old!  They will be great big brothers!

D-day!

Today's the day!  I am so glad to get this baby out - I'm huge, my ankles are huge and daily life is full of unnecessary grunts and groans!  I get induced 8pm tonight!  I cannot believe she insisted on "baking" this long!  I really believe she heard her brothers on the outside and said "you can't make me go out there!"  They scare me at times , she's a smart girl!  :)  They boys know they are going to have a baby sister, but they still have no idea what they are truly in for...  They will be great big brothers to her, but 3 kids is very intimidating!

So crafty, it scares me :)

The craft bug has bit me - in my not so spare time I have been working on projects for the baby's room and around the house.  I made a hair bow holder (top right),  pictures for the powder room (top middle and right middle), adding some home made touches to the lamp shade, working on an afghan, crocheting around blankets, the flowers I didn't make, but they are new to the baby's room, and...

Kindergarten Graduation

I can't believe my oldest graduated from kindergarten tonight!  Where did the time go????  His graduation ceremony was so cute, and he looked so handsome!  I was an emotional wreck (of course), and it was only kindergarten...
Kole, one of his teachers, and Kamden

Congatulations Kole!  We made it through the first year, only 12 more (at least) to go!!!!

Who is that boy?!

This was the equivalent of "baby's first haircut" - cutting Kamden's hair was something I hated to do, but Denin and I knew it was time.... Kam, hated his hair! Every time we would take Kole for a hair cut he would ask if he could get his cut, and anytime I would ask him if he wanted his hair short it was always a yes, "like Kole's." He told my mom he was tired of moving it out of his eyes when she picked him up from school to meet me at the salon yesterday. He finally got his wish:

He looks totally different to me - I like it, not sure if Denin does yet, Kole thought he looked "funny" when he first saw him, but Kamden likes it!
As you can see by the 4am post - this pregnancy thing is really going great!!!!  I sleep terrible, not due to discomfort, I just can't sleep.  I guess it's just nature's way of preparing me for the sleepless nights and nonstop screaming!  Only 3 more weeks!!!!!
